Why slab leaks are common here
Many Sparks and Reno homes built from the 1970s through the early 2000s have copper supply lines running under the slab. Hard water, abrasion against rebar and soil movement wear pinholes into that copper over time. The first sign is often a warm spot on the floor or a water bill that jumps for no reason.
Spot repair vs. reroute
If the line is otherwise healthy, we can open a small section of slab and repair the leak. If the copper has multiple weak points, rerouting that line through the attic or walls with PEX is usually the better long-term investment, and avoids breaking concrete again later.
